Treatment Options

I am comfortable treating many different conditions and I have extensive training working in rehabilitation treatments involving surgery.  The different categories of treatment overlap quite well and can be integrated easily. If you are unsure if a treatment option is right for you please book in as an "Initial Therapeutic Relaxation Massage" and indicate in the comments that you would like me to contact you in advance of the treatment.

Lymphatic Drainage

This is a gentle treatment that can help clients experiencing swelling and congestion and can help to increase your immune system function.
If you are planning to undergo surgery it can be recommended pre/post surgery to help with the healing process.  When your lymphatic system is functioning optimally it is able to bring the tools of repair to your tissues.
Breast cancer survivors can experience a heaviness in their limbs.  This treatment can help to manage that symptom provided no lymphedema is present.

Breast Treatments

Breast health is incredibly important as breast cancer is a rising concern. Prairie Spring Massage focuses on education about the early signs and symptoms of cancer as this can help with early detection and better prognosis.

A personalized treatment plan that can work alongside other medical interventions to help you recover, relax, and find relief from pain and stress is most important. Take a look at our blog for informative articles, tips, and news related to breast health and common side effects of treatment.

Whether you are undergoing surgery for cancer treatment, as a gender affirming action, or as an elective procedure, massage therapy can be a fantastic non-invasive way to help with many of the common complications.  Treatments can be beneficial both before and after surgery.

Massage can also be used in advance of any concerns as a wholistic approach to personal health care.

Therapeutic Relaxation

The slow speed and firm pressure of my therapeutic treatments allows for the stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system.  This is the system that we engage when we are at rest, in meditation, or spend time in nature.  It is a very healing place to be working within.

Because I don't try to force any tissue to release I am able to engage with your body at the level of the nervous system and allow time for the brain to make the necessary changes.

This treatment can help to decrease pain, stimulate circulation, and decrease the physical effects of stress.
